  1. Remember the postcard contest we talked about a few weeks ago? Remember how we wanted you all to enter so you could win an awesome prize? Well, pretty much nobody entered. EXCEPT the ever-faithful Montana House, and and our dear friends Tim & Janet Fitzgerald. So without further ado, I present you the two entries and their touching writing.

Tim and Janet chose the Yellowstone postcard we sent from Wyoming.
Attached is my favorite postcard from your travels for the contest that almost was.  I know you spent a lot of your free time choosing, writing, and mailing these cards over the summer – so on all behalf of all of us unresponsive tools nimrods couch taters out here: Thank you for making us part of the journey. I like the attached card not so much for its depiction of the wonders of Yellowstone but for the memories it evokes. Yellowstone is one of my favorite places on the planet. The buffalo calving grounds on the upper Madison, the Firehole in late fall, the spawning cutthroats at LeHardy Rapids making their way upstream to the lake, the meadows of Slough Creek, the rocking chairs on the porch at the Lake Lodge: all timeless and wonderful memories.”

Montana House chose every card we sent to them!
“All of them! Because they all made us laugh and miss you.”

Thanks for entering guys! And everyone else … well, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that the cards never made it. :P
